RESOLUTION #1 (Traditional Marriage)
As members of the # _______ precinct caucus of ________ County, Colorado, it is resolved that: We support marriage exclusively as the union of one man and one woman. The State has a rational interest in reserving the recognition of marriage to something more than a relationship between adults of any gender or number. We ask that governing officials articulate to the public the fiscal and child welfare benefits that traditional marriage brings to our State and that they employ this knowledge in all of their deliberations.
RESOLUTION #2 (Parental Rights)
As members of the # _______ precinct caucus of ________ County, Colorado, it is resolved that: We believe fit parents should have the authority to make decisions for their children’s well-being without governmental interference (medically, educationally, etc…) We ask our governing officials to employ the principle that parents, not governments, have the fundamental right to direct the upbringing of their children. We denounce any form of child abuse—our advocacy for parental rights should not be construed to include the right to abuse or end the life of a child.
RESOLUTION #3 (Religious Liberty)
As members of the # _______ precinct caucus of ________ County, Colorado, it is resolved that: We support an American’s right to hold, articulate and legally act on a minority opinion as guaranteed by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. We oppose state or federal mandates compelling businesses, organizations or individuals to directly or indirectly fund or participate in actions or programs that violate their religious beliefs. We support the right of citizens to decline to associate themselves, their business or organization with individuals or activities that violate the free exercise of their religion or beliefs. We do not support the refusal of services that would endanger a person’s right to life.
RESOLUTION #4 (Humanity of the Unborn)
As members of the # _______ precinct caucus of ________ County, Colorado, it is resolved that: The Declaration of Independence states, “… We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life…” The Fourteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution states, “No State shall… deprive any person of life, liberty, or… the equal protection of the laws.” We ask that our governing officials protect the humanity of the unborn from conception (regardless of the mode of conception)—and that legal protections for the unborn are consistent with the Declaration of Independence and the Fourteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution.
